Terms of Use

Terms for using InvoQuill, including subscriptions, storage on your device, payment-link limits and your responsibilities.

1. Provider details

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) are between you and InvoQuill, the trading identity of the UK sole-trader publisher of the app (“InvoQuill”, “we”, “us” or “our”).

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. If you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of mandatory protections or the right to use courts available under the law where you live.

2. Accepting these Terms

By downloading, accessing or using InvoQuill, you agree to these Terms. If you use InvoQuill for a business or organisation, you confirm that you have authority to act for it.

Your download and any purchase through your Apple Account are also subject to Apple’s applicable App Store, media-services and subscription terms and the Apple Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement. If these Terms conflict with mandatory Apple terms, those Apple terms apply to the extent of the conflict.

Do not use InvoQuill if you do not agree to these Terms.

3. What InvoQuill provides

InvoQuill stores business records on your device and helps you prepare quotations, estimates, invoices, expenses, jobs, mileage, payments, reports and exports. It can also help with PDFs, payment links, private iCloud sync, backups, Calendar export, Siri and Shortcuts, widgets and Apple Watch views.

InvoQuill does not provide accountancy, tax, legal, employment, safety or other regulated professional advice. It does not replace an accountant, tax adviser, lawyer, regulator, certification system or a business’s own record-keeping and approval controls.

4. Your workspace and content

You control the information you enter, import, photograph, scan or create in InvoQuill (“Your Content”). You are responsible for:

  • having a lawful reason and any necessary permission to use personal, financial, tax, photo, location or confidential information;
  • checking customer, supplier, bank, tax, payment, job, mileage and contact details before relying on or sharing them;
  • reviewing every draft, generated description, Siri or Shortcuts result, calculation, report, PDF, payment link and export;
  • retaining records for the period and in the form required for your business; and
  • keeping devices, Apple Accounts, passcodes, links, exports and backup passphrases secure.

You must not use the app to infringe another person’s rights, break the law, misrepresent a transaction, distribute malicious material or gain unauthorised access to a device, account, service or data.

InvoQuill, its interface, documentation, branding and original content are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. Your licence to install and use the app is the limited, non-transferable licence described by Apple’s Standard EULA. You retain ownership of Your Content and grant only the permissions needed for the app and any service or person you choose to share it with.

5. Documents, numbering, tax and compliance

Issuing a document assigns its final number and saves a permanent version for your business history. You must confirm that the business identity, customer, document type, dates, currency, tax treatment, line items, totals, payment details, terms and legal wording are correct before issuing or sending it.

Tax rules, rates, filing duties, invoice requirements and retention periods can change and can depend on facts the app cannot know. Regional defaults and calculations are aids, not a compliance guarantee. You remain responsible for obtaining current professional advice and meeting all legal, tax, accounting, consumer, employment, licensing and industry requirements.

InvoQuill does not currently submit tax returns, VAT returns, CIS returns or other regulatory filings on your behalf.

6. Subscription and StoreKit billing

InvoQuill Pro is a monthly auto-renewable subscription sold through Apple’s StoreKit and tied to the purchasing Apple Account. The subscription covers the ability to issue numbered business documents. You do not need a subscription to explore the workspace, create drafts, or use customers, the catalogue, expenses, jobs, mileage, reports, backups and iCloud sync.

The app displays the real local price and any introductory offer returned by the App Store for your region and Apple Account. A free trial is offered only when Apple says that account is eligible. Apple shows the exact price, billing period, trial conversion and renewal terms before purchase.

Payment is charged to your Apple Account. The subscription renews automatically until cancelled through Apple. You can use Manage Subscription in the app or Apple’s subscription settings to review or cancel it. Cancelling stops a future renewal but does not normally reverse the current paid period. Apple processes charges, purchase verification, cancellation, billing retries, revoked access and refund requests under Apple’s rules. InvoQuill does not process them.

An expired or revoked subscription does not delete Your Content. Existing issued records remain available to view and export. You need an active subscription to issue more numbered documents. Restore Purchases asks Apple to check the subscription for the Apple Account signed in on the device.

Your statutory rights remain unaffected. Refunds, withdrawal rights, price changes and billing disputes are handled under applicable law and Apple’s purchase and refund processes.

8. Local storage, iCloud, backups and deletion

Your working records are stored on your device. If iCloud sync is available for your Apple Account, Apple can keep a matching copy in that account’s private CloudKit database. InvoQuill does not run its own server that holds the workspace, and support cannot retrieve the private database for you.

iCloud sync is not a backup. Sync, imports, offline edits, Apple Account changes and using several devices can cause delays or conflicts. In particular, two offline devices can choose the same next document number before they sync. The app can flag a duplicate for review, but it cannot guarantee one unique number across every device while they are all offline.

Use the app’s backup and export features, verify that files can be opened and store copies according to your obligations. Optional encrypted backups use a passphrase that InvoQuill does not know and cannot recover. Losing it can make those backups permanently unusable.

Deleting your working records does not delete separate PDFs, emails, Calendar events, files, recipient copies or old backup archives. Deleting the app does not necessarily delete private iCloud records. Follow the in-app deletion flow, allow synchronisation to complete and separately remove exported copies when appropriate.

9. Location, photos, permissions and background operation

Location, Motion & Fitness, Camera, Photos, Calendar and notifications are optional system permissions. Features that depend on a denied or withdrawn permission will be limited or unavailable. Contact import uses Apple’s system picker and receives only the contact you select.

A trip that you start can continue in the background or while the phone is locked. Smart Mileage can use background location and motion after you enable it and check in to eligible work. Apple controls background execution. Force quitting, low power, lost signal, system restrictions or changed permissions can interrupt capture. InvoQuill does not guarantee that a route, address, distance, duration, photo coordinate, check-in or check-out will always be recorded. You must review and correct the resulting record.

Photos and imported files can contain personal or confidential information, including hidden details such as dates and locations. You are responsible for obtaining consent and deciding whether a photo’s date, coordinates, site address or other evidence should appear in a report shared with someone else.

10. Mail, Files, Calendar, Siri, Shortcuts, Widget and Watch

These are user-directed Apple system integrations:

  • Mail, Files and the share sheet send content only after you choose where it should go and confirm the system action;
  • Calendar is a one-way exported copy and does not turn edits in Calendar into edits to the original InvoQuill job;
  • Apple Intelligence can help with requests, wording and categories on supported devices, but you must review every suggestion before using it;
  • Siri and InvoQuill shortcuts can prepare or open work, but they do not issue or send a document, record a payment or complete work, and they do not check you into a job, start a work timer or begin location recording; and
  • widgets, Apple Watch, Spotlight, notifications and live activities can show limited workspace information on your devices. App Lock hides business details from these quick views, but is not a substitute for securing the Apple device and account.

Apple and any app, service or person you share with handle their copy under their own terms. Check the content before you share it or show it in a widget, notification, Watch view or other quick view.

11. Availability and changes

InvoQuill depends on the device, iOS, the App Store, iCloud, StoreKit and other Apple services. Features can be unavailable, delayed, interrupted or changed because of connectivity, permissions, system updates or the availability of another service. We do not promise uninterrupted or error-free operation.

We may update the app and these Terms to reflect new features, security, technical limits, law or App Store requirements. Updated Terms will be posted at invoquill.com/terms with a new “Last updated” date. Material changes take effect when stated in the notice, subject to any notice period required by law.

12. Disclaimers and liability

InvoQuill is provided as a tool that requires human review. It does not warrant that a generated document, tax result, reminder, route, evidence item, payment link, report, export or suggested action is complete, accurate, legally sufficient, accepted by a recipient or suitable for a particular purpose.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, InvoQuill is not responsible for indirect or consequential loss caused by relying on an unreviewed output, loss of access to a device or Apple Account, a third-party service, or a backup passphrase that cannot be recovered. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any liability or statutory right that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

13. Suspension and ending use

You can stop using the app and cancel the subscription through Apple. Before deleting the app, export or back up anything you must retain and use the in-app controls if you also want to delete a synced workspace.

We may discontinue or materially change the app where reasonably necessary for security, legal, technical or commercial reasons. Where practical, we will give reasonable notice through the app, website or App Store listing. Apple controls subscription billing and any resulting refund rights. Discontinuation does not remove statutory rights or transfer responsibility for copies you exported or shared.
